What is CrateDB?

CrateDB is the hyper-fast database that truly scales. Store any type of data and combine the simplicity of SQL with the scalability of NoSQL. Whatever the complexity, volume and velocity of data, CrateDB allows you to perform complex queries in milliseconds, where other database technologies simply can’t. Now you can use CrateDB Cloud completely free with CRFREE.

How does the free tier work?

cr-arrow-right
CRFREE is completely free.
cr-arrow-right
You get a single node with up to 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB RAM and 8 GiB storage.
cr-arrow-right
CRFREE is meant for active discovery of CrateDB. To mitigate infrastructure costs, it is suspended after 7 days of inactivity.
cr-arrow-right
CRFREE is neither meant for benchmarking nor production projects. It is hosted on a single node of a shared infrastructure and doesn’t provide all the benefits of a dedicated distributed database on a multi-node cluster.

What features do I get access to?

cr-arrow-right
You can get access to all CrateDB features, including the multiple data types, the flexible data schema, and the support for native SQL
cr-arrow-right
You can discover the Cloud interface, set up one node, import test data or your own data, connect to your instance and start making queries using the simplicity of SQL.

What are the limitations?

cr-arrow-right
The single-node CRFEE plan doesn’t offer capabilities you would get from a standard CrateDB distributed cluster, such as high speed, scalability and high-availability, but you can easily create a new cluster with another plan from within the Cloud Console.

CRFREE is not the right place to start for benchmarking nor production projects. Book a meeting with one of our experts to get some help with sizing your architecture properly and optimizing your queries to milli-seconds response times.
